It’s tough sharing a birth month with the United States, but the city of Alexandria never lets the Fourth of July overshadow its own birthday. The Virginia town will celebrate its 265th year Saturday with a free concert, cake and the booms of fireworks and canons.

Join the party at Oronoco Bay Park, where local rockers Fuse Box will take the stage at 7 p.m. for a free concert. The Alexandria Symphony Orchestra will also perform before the party’s grand finale, a fireworks show beginning at 9:30 p.m.
