DC restaurants, bars, chefs on semifinalist list for 2014 James Beard Foundation awards

When making weekend dinner reservations, you will want to consider the Washington restaurants, bars and chefs named today as semifinalists for the 2014 James Beard Foundation Restaurant and Chef Awards.

More than 40,000 nominations were considered for this top dining honor. Washington received a nod in all but one of the national categories, and the region boasts seven of the Mid-Atlantic’s 20 Best Chef nominees.

This is the first year the foundation has named a semifinalist list. Finalist for these prestigious awards will be named in March. Winners will be announced in May.
