In an effort to pry the policy wonks out of the Capitol and into the sun, The Liaison Hotel is offering locals more than just a place to cool off this summer.
Opening May 19, the hotel’s newly designed 7,000-square-foot rooftop pool and bar — the Hill’s only — will be a place to bask in the sun and in the knowledge of local lifestyle experts.
Every Thursday, the hotel will host a “Dive In & Cool Off” happy hour series featuring the city’s leading voices in arts, culture, food and politics.
All summer, locals can take a dip in the 50-foot pool for free after 5 p.m. Pool passes, which cost $25, are required when the pool opens daily to Washingtonians at 11 a.m. The hotel is floating a $50 Weekend Refresher package for locals, which provides pool access for an entire weekend, a 1-hour morning yoga class and a $20 breakfast credit at Art and Soul.
The Liaison will celebrate its pool and bar grand opening May 29 with a “Margarita Wars”-themed party. D.C. drink masters will be mix margaritas for guests, who will vote for their favorite. Tickets are $41 and can be purchased here.
