DHS’s Donna Roy named CIO of CFPB
Donna Roy is joining the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as CIO.
Currently executive director of the Information Sharing and Services Office at the Department of Homeland Security in the Office of the CIO, Roy will move to CFPB Nov. 10.
She announced her departure in an email to her colleagues Wednesday morning, calling it a “bittersweet moment.”
“I am looking forward to watching this team lead the path to the cloud, drive operational efficiency, stay hyper-focused on delivering faster—better—cheaper for our customers, and ensuring a strong cyber posture by continuing to lead the federal government with identity management capabilities,” she wrote. “Whether you are making the day in the life of a HQ employee better or meeting the needs of our partners at the mission edge, know that your work is and will continue to make a difference.”
Phil Letowt will take over leadership of the Information Sharing and Services Office in Roy’s absence.
Roy, a Marine Corps veteran, joined DHS in 2006 as director of its Enterprise Data Management Office. Before that, she spent five years with the U.S. Geological Survey.
“I feel privileged to have worked with so many talented and hardworking federal servants and under the leadership of so many different yet dedicated CIOs over the years,” her email said. “I am proud of the work we have accomplished together in IS2O and throughout my years in OCIO.”
