The Agriculture Department’s Farm Service Agency is hiring for its chief information officer position, according to a job posting on USAJobs.gov.

The person hired will be responsible for the overall strategic direction and operations of tech within the agency, which works with farmers on regulations and conservation efforts. The job listing asks for someone who will help increase information sharing across USDA, determine which IT projects need to be revised or dropped, and establish cost-effective policies for the short- and long-term.

The position was vacated last month when Lawrence Gross left to become the CIO at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. FSA Chief Financial Officer Radha Sekar has been serving as acting CIO since Gross’s departure.

The job is a senior executive service position, paying between $168,671-$175,967 per year. The new hire will be subject to a one-year probationary period.

The job listing is open until Dec. 14.
