The Federal Communications Commission will conduct a public demonstration of a new online database of political television commercials on July 17.

Starting with the television stations in the nation’s 50 largest media markets, broadcasters will be required to update information about which political campaigns have purchased advertising times on a centralized FCC database.

FCC officials will hold a livestreamed event to demonstrate the system to in-house staff who will handle the work associated with the project.
