Sequestration is hitting the military hard, but Navy Secretary Ray Mabus on Tuesday told a congressional panel the Navy and the Marine Corps will be able to meet their current and future missions, but only with proper resourcing. That comes, though, with two-thirds of the Navy’s fleet being below readiness levels because of the sequester and other hardships the department is facing.
