This Sunday, Parade magazine will feature 17 of America’s best barbecue joints. Garden District (known formerly as Standard) in Logan Circle is on the list.

In a cover story celebrating the country’s return to traditional food, writer John T. Edge, director of the Southern Foodways Alliance at the University of Mississippi, explores the history of slow-cooking meat. Food critics from across the country reveal their picks for the best places to enjoy barbecue today.

Garden District serves North Carolina-style pulled pork and barbequed brisket. Kloby’s Smokehouse in Baltimore is also recognized in the article. See the full list of best eats here.
