Gov Actually is back again with its special series celebrating the Partnership for Public Service’s Service to America Medals awards nominees.

Dubbed the Sammies — named for PPS founder Samuel J. Heyman — the awards are frequently called the Oscars of government service.

In this episode, the Gov Actually team speaks with Tom Davis, director of recapitalization in the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Davis was nominated for a Sammie for his work leading the Rental Assistance Demonstration project, “generating $3.9 billion in private money to rehabilitate or rebuild 60,000 affordable housing units without any new federal funding.” according the PPS.
