The General Services Administration will host a one-day conference on the essentials of video on March 8 at the agency’s Constitution Square headquarters.

The conference will cover a tried-and-true workflow for the Web video production process, including:

  1. Pre-production: audience/purpose analysis, story-telling and scriptwriting, storyboarding, planning;
  2. Production: different camera types, lighting, composition, getting good location audio, shooting “B roll”;
  3. Post-production: logging, importance of metadata, editing options (Mac, Windows, Avid, Final Cut, Premiere), Section 508 issues, titles and finishing; and
  4. Post-post: delivery format options, such as H.264, Flash.
