The Department of the Interior released a request for information to learn more about market capabilities for storing and managing applications and data as part of the agency’s information technology modernization.
“The intent of this RFI is to complement our understanding of the Department’s current hosting Capabilities. The objective of the strategy is to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and agility of the IT services supporting DOI’s mission applications, programs, and end- users,” said Deputy Assistant Secretary for Technology, Information and Business Services Andrew Jackson.
The agency is asking for vendor insight on hosting solutions available, as well as industry best practices, for large-scale infrastructure consolidation efforts, including information regarding application and data migration, as well as service levels. In this context, vendors are asked to provide substantial information regarding their hosting capabilities, experience, and knowledge, the agency said.
