Prepare to spot lots of Spandex this weekend. Jazzercisers from around the world will be dancing around Washington, D.C., for Jazzercise Live!, a two-day fitness event at the Washington Hilton.

While some trends in exercise have come and gone (Tae Bo, anyone?), fitness fans are still sweating to this old-school cardio class. Some 1,600 people from 14 different countries are expected for this convention to mark a milestone for the popular workout.
“Jazzercise turns 45 this year and we know how to throw a party,” said Judi Sheppard Missett, founder and CEO of Jazzercise. “We are excited to bring together our family of customers and instructors for a weekend devoted to education, fitness and fun.”
Dancers will be learning new moves in classes like the “Star Spangled Stretch” and “Capitol Choreography.”  If you’re hoping for an excuse to wear your old legwarmers or sweatband, however, you’re out of luck — Jazzercise Live! has been sold out for weeks.
