Former Defense Department Deputy Chief Management Officer Elizabeth McGrath will be joining Deloitte, according to a statement released Jan. 9.
McGrath will act as an adviser to Deloitte’s federal government and commercial clients. She will work on providing strategies to help clients innovate and improve business operations.
“Beth brings deep capabilities and experience in business operations from her many years of stellar services at the Department of Defense,” said John Powers, principal at Deloitte.
As deputy chief, she was responsible for a review process of $7 billion in business IT systems. She also oversaw improvements to DOD’s business architecture and security clearance processes
McGrath was appointed deputy chief in July 2010. In tandem with her deputy chief position, she also served as DOD’s performance improvement office, creating the Departmental Strategic Management Plan.
Previously, McGrath was deputy director for Systems Integration, Defense Finance and Accounting Service. Under that position, she was responsible for a budget of $1 billion.
McGrath is a graduate of George Mason University and has won a number of awards including the National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation and the Presidential Rank Award.
