Napolitano to return for second term

Janet Napolitano will continue as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security into President Obama’s second term, the White House confirmed to The Hill.

Napolitano joins Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Attorney General Eric Holder as members of the president’s Cabinet who have announced their intention to return.

In recent weeks, a number of Obama’s Cabinet members and advisors have announced plans to leave the administration, including Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, Environmental Protection Agency Director Lisa Jackson and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis.
