Senate considers zeroing TMF weeks before deadline

As Congress nears the deadline to finalize appropriations for fiscal 2020, the Senate, in the latest version of one spending bill, has completely left off the administration's Technology Modernization Fund. There's still hope in the House, however, which wants to give the fund $35 million. Tajha Chappellet-Lanier has more on the battle.

Air Force’s shift to multi-domain operations depends on networks

The Air Force is moving to what it calls multi-domain operations — linking together air, sea, land, space, cyber and information assets to better identify and eliminate threats. The service's top leadership took the stage this week at the Air, Space and Cyber Conference to highlight the importance of a modern, central network as part of this plan. “Instead of relying on one specific platform for future command and control, we’re developing a robust, open-architecture family of systems that includes air, ground, remotely piloted and space assets, and synchronizing them onto a single network," acting Secretary Matt Donovan said. CISA launches contest to identify top cyber talent in government

DHS's CISA wants to find the top cyber talent in the federal government. The agency launched the President’s Cup Cybersecurity Competition this week as required by President Trump’s executive order in May on cybersecurity workforce to identify and reward top executive branch personnel. Winners could receive an up to $50,000 bonus from their agency. Dave Nyczepir has the scoop.


Treasury’s $1 billion-plus enterprisewide cloud contract is coming
