Former DHS CIO Zangardi officially joins Leidos

Leidos officially announced Monday that John Zangardi took a senior executive role with the company, confirming news that sources close to Zangardi told FedScoop earlier this month when he suddenly departed DHS. Army picks Pivotal’s Paul Puckett to stand up cloud management office

The Army has selected a familiar face to lead its new Enterprise Cloud Management Office. Paul Puckett, a civilian with a combination of private sector and government experience, took over as director of the office Monday, positioned under the Army Office of the CIO/G6 led by Lt. Gen. Bruce Crawford. Puckett comes from cloud and software services company Pivotal Software, Inc., where he was chief technology officer for its federal business. He previously served about six years as an IT leader at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Billy Mitchell has the story.


Murky contractor ownership masks national security threats to IT

The Government Accountability Office is warning the Department of Defense to be more careful of the contractors it hires, as those with murky ownership could be run by foreign adversaries. The potential threats include sabotage or spying on systems containing sensitive information, according to intelligence officials the GAO consulted for the new report released Monday. Companies struggling financially are particularly vulnerable to exploitation by adversaries, who might quietly acquire a domestic contractor, Defense Intelligence Agency officials told GAO.
