TBM + FITARA Scorecard = IT transparency

Federal officials hope that as the Office of Management and Budget unveils more data on agencies' use of the Technology Business Management framework, Congress will take this as a cue to add it as a measure on the biannual FITARA Scorecards. “At some point, not maybe the next scorecard, but at some point down the line, I can see TBM being used to refine the existing scorecard measures,” said Kevin Walsh, the Government Accountability Office‘s director of IT and cybersecurity. For David Shive, CIO of the General Services Administration, there's a natural parallel between TBM and the FITARA Scorecard. "It’s all about increasing transparency so that executive decision-makers can make better decisions,” Shive said. Billy Mitchell has more on TBM.

So the agency reached out to GSA's Cloud Adoption Center of Excellence (CoE) for help developing a faster solution for the facilities team. More from Dave.

CDM holds untapped value for agency cyberdefense programs

Agencies that are implementing the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation program have an opportunity to use the CDM data to increase the value of cyberdefense and cyber-operations programs, says Splunk’s executive Frank Dimina. “There's a wealth of sensor data for CDM reporting that has an untapped value. Operationalizing it lets CDM become more than a compliance program,” he shares in a new podcast. Hear more insights from Dimina.
