NIST Set to Unveil Federal Cloud Technology Roadmap

The National Institute of Standards and Technology announced it will release a draft of the U.S. Government Cloud Computing Technology Roadmap during its Cloud Computing Forum & Workshop IV, scheduled for November 2-4 in Gaithersburg and Rockville, Md.

During the event, NIST will also provide an update to its Cloud Computing Standards Roadmap (NIST Special Publication 500-291) and NIST Cloud Computing Reference Architecture (NIST SP 500-292), both released this summer, as well as a status report on efforts to develop open standards for cloud computing interoperability, portability and security.

Featured speakers include U.S. Chief Information Officer Steven VanRoekel and NIST Director and Commerce Department Under Secretary for Standards and Technology Patrick Gallagher.
