If the snowy weather forecast has you fearing the Wednesday morning commute, trade in your drive for a sled ride. These three hills are tops for sledding in The District.

Capitol Hill

Red cheeks, white snow and laughter that leaves you blue in the face. What’s more American than a snow day on the Capitol lawn?

Rock Creek Park

Coast from the top of the ridge at 24th and Calvert streets. Reward yourself for making the hike back up the hill with an Irish coffee enjoyed fireside inside Murphy’s Irish Pub.

Battery Kemble Park

Neighbors in the Foxhall community rave about the slope in this Northwest park. Expect the crowds to be family friendly, but be sure to  watch for yellow snow – Battery Kemble is also a very popular dog park.
