Will the First Lady be there to introduce any of the pictures? Highly unlikely. But, you can meet movie actors, producers and directors when the outskirts of Hollywood comes to the heart of Washington, D.C.
If the Oscars have left you longing to expand your silver screen knowledge and be a better movie buff, get a ticket for 2013 DC Independent Film Festival.
The event, in its fifteenth year, will showcase 9 feature films and 12 documentaries, many making world premieres. Politicos may want to watch Camera Shy, a dark comedy about a politician who becomes stalked by an unwanted camera man.
In addition to the films, the week-long festival will feature seminars and workshops showcasing a behind-the-scenes look at every angle of moving making, and for the most dedicated popcorn lovers, a retrospective on moving going.
The DC Independent Film Festival runs from March 6-10. Find more information and buy event tickets here.
