Modernizing business processes in government and evidence-based policy making in Congress

Recommendations for cloud contracts at the General Services Administration from Roger Waldron, president at The Coalition for Government Procurement, who says GSA is currently creating “vertical contract duplication” that creates more costs for government and industry.

While Congress mandates federal agencies to implement evidence-based decision making, the lawmaking body itself has no obligation for using data to make policy. Capitol Hill lawmakers are now looking to executive branch agencies for strategies to apply data to complicated decisions and policies.

Former Housing and Urban Development Chief Financial Officer Irving Dennis details how federal CFO’s and other agencies leaders can use the data available to them to help modernize processes in their organizations.
