TechTake: Tech titans unite for government surveillance reform

TechTake explores the bigger issues and trends in the federal IT community, and twice-monthly features a “Women in Technology” segment.

Six prominent technology companies, led by Google and Microsoft, teamed to write an open letter to government, demanding reform of government surveillance.

The alliance formed the website ReformGovernmentSurveillance.com, featuring its open letter and the five principles of reform it supports. These eight companies, often fierce competitors, are uniting for this public campaign to get attention and support from lawmakers.
