USAF building its cloud environment; Cyber Command asking industry for help; DOJ thwarting cybercrime

On today’s episode of The Daily Scoop Podcast, only two Department of Justice components have followed supply chain risk management requirements over the last six years.

DOJ is boosting its cyber technological capabilities as part of a new strategic plan. Grant Schneider, senior director for cybersecurity services at Venable LLP and former federal chief information security officer, discusses the department’s cybersecurity mission delivery initiative.

U.S. Cyber Command is asking companies to share more cyber intelligence they collect to help improve defensive digital operations. Ron Marks, president of ZPN Cyber and National Security Strategies and visiting professor at George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government, explains what that relationship between the combatant command and industry looks like and possible issues in coordinating that communication.

The Department of Defense expects to award its Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability contract later this year. Air Force Chief Information Officer Lauren Knausenberger tells Billy Mitchell on the latest episode of Let’s Talk About IT discusses the progress her organization has already made building a cloud environment.
