Report: White House circulating cyber executive order

The White House is circulating a draft executive order focused on cybersecurity that builds off parts of the bill from Senator Joseph Lieberman that was blocked in the Senate last month, The Hill reports.

The executive order would establish a voluntary program where companies operating critical infrastructure would elect to meet cybersecurity best practices.

The draft is expected to be shared with agencies next week, the Hill reports.
