Next year, escaping the Washington winter will be a bit easier. Southwest announced Monday it will offer direct flights from BWI Airport to Aruba, Nassau and Montego Bay beginning July 1. The addition of the carrier’s first international bookings comes as a result of the discount airline’s acquisition of AirTran.
Atlanta and Orlando are the only other cities gaining this Caribbean trio of direct service, but Southwest plans to add more international routes in other U.S. airports throughout 2014.
Online booking from BWI to the new vacation destinations is currently live on Southwest.com.
