5G helping to increase security at Tyndall as Air Force rebuilds ‘smart base’


The 5G-enabled capabilities at Tyndall include a network of gunshot-detection sensors and an array of detection tools at the bases perimeter.

Tyndall Air Force Base, which suffered extreme structural damage from Hurricane Michael's Category 5 winds in October 2018, will get 5G service sometime in early 2020.
