Bo Obama has a new shadow. He and the first family welcomed another Portuguese water dog, Sunny, to the White House this weekend.

“So excited to introduce the newest member of the Obama family—our puppy, Sunny!” Michelle Obama said in a tweet Monday evening, sharing a photo of their new pet.

Sunny comes to Washington from Michigan, where she was born last June.

In a blog post introducing the new pooch, who is named for her bright personality, the White House announced Sunny will assist the president with official duties like greeting White House guests, visiting soldiers at Walter Reed and inspecting holiday decor. She will also have an all-access pass to the Oval Office.

To celebrate Sunny’s arrival, the Obamas made a donation to the Washington Humane Society.
