Do you want more from Hollywood’s biggest night than your couch and some popcorn-flavored ice cream? Then check out these red-carpet events where you can celebrate the silver screen this Sunday without venturing outside the Beltway.

Oscar Night at Commissary

At the end of Commissary’s red carpet, guests will find a complimentary Oscar-inspired cocktail and a gourmet popcorn bar. The P Street restaurant will show the awards on a full-wall projector while offering food and drink specials throughout the show. No ticket needed, but reservations are recommended.

DC Film Society’s 22nd Annual Party

You can walk away a winner at this Oscar party. While the show plays on a movie screen inside the Arlington Draft House, bid on silent auction items for restaurant, movie and theater gift certificates and autographed movie memorabilia. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door, but this popular party usually sells out.

Glamour, Glitter and Gold

Just like Oscar presenters and nominees, VIP guests at this annual gala leave gifted with a swag bag. Held this year at Town Dance Boutique, the annual DC Center fundraiser brings in local comedians to offer color commentary during Oscar commercial breaks. Tickets are required.
