Hypochondria: There’s an app for that.

WebMD has released an updated version of its popular iPhone app that not only offers symptom and causes of more than 26,000 conditions, but now customizes health content and connects patients with their health care providers.

The app allows users to search locally for doctors, but will also will also provide virtual bedside care through the Patient Instructions feature, allowing physicians to securely send education and instructions on thousands of conditions, procedures and drugs to their patients.

The new design, says Bill Pence, WebMD chief technology officer and chief operating officer, will “provide consumers with an experience that is tailored uniquely to them.”
