Sure, there will be furniture store sales and mall promotions over the Veterans Day long weekend, but two unique events in Virginia will showcase international antiques, holiday trends and the work of local designers.

1. 37th Annual McLean Antiques Show – McLean, Va.

Dealers from across the region will offer furniture, art, silver and rugs at this yearly event, which serves as a fundraiser for the James C. Macdonald Scholarship Fund. Held at the McLean Community Center, the show lasts Saturday and Sunday. Buy advanced tickets here.

2. Lucketts Holiday Open House – Lucketts, Va.

Every month, the Lucketts Design House features new home decor styles and housewares from area designers, but it’s the November debut of holiday decor that is most anticipated.

Doors opened today and will welcome shoppers (with food and cocktails!) through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. New this year is an outdoor winter market featuring 60 vendors selling antique and vintage finds.
